Hamilton leads Louisiana Tech to 77-58 win over Prairie View

RUSTON, La. (AP) — Alex Hamilton had 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds and a season-high 10 assists to lead Louisiana Tech to a 77-58 win over Prairie View on Monday night.

Jacobi Boykins added 12 points while Dayon Griffin and Derric Jean scored 10 apiece for Louisiana Tech (11-2).

A 3-pointer by Erik McCree gave the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead about three minutes in and six-straight points by Boykins capped a 12-0 run that pushed Louisiana Tech’s lead to 34-14 with 3:38 left in the half.

The ‘Dogs led by 21 points at the break and twice led by as many as 29 in the second half.

Admassu Williams scored 12 and Jordan Giddings added 11 points for Prairie View (0-12). The Panthers, who have lost 13 in a row dating to last season, shot 33 percent from the field, including just 3 of 17 (18 percent) from 3-point range.
