Drone attacks set dangerous precedent: #tellusatoday

We asked our followers on Twitter what they thought about the U.S. Policy for drone strikes on U.S. Citizens working with alleged terrorists abroad. Comments are edited for clarity and grammar:.

Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen, was killed in a drone strike in Yemen in 2011.

“Alleged” says it all. U.S. Nationals get due process, and so should everyone.

— @Ccocca.

So President George W. Bush can’t waterboard terrorists, but President Obama’s drones can kill anyone he wants to? Even Americans?

— @BarbofPA.

Terrorists are going to hide and kill innocent people any way they can. We should and must use all methods available to kill them.

— @Robertp3743.

It’s a dangerous precedent the president is creating. With the wrong commander in chief, that would become a sick tool.

— @Battle4America.

If engaged in hostile activities or planning same in the name of an enemy of the state from outside the USA, they’re toast.

— @T38Joe.

I think if you pick the wrong team, then you get what you deserve.

— @Beersnbars.

The U.S. Constitution protects the minority from the whims of the majority. Drone strike policies run counter to that.
